The Saxon Day Centre is a registered charity that has provided day care and other services to older adults (over 55) in the local community for over 35 years. The centre is open Monday to Friday between 10am until 3pm.
Our aim is to combat loneliness, social isolation and boredom by providing a safe, comfortable environment that is stimulating, fun and entertaining. We also provide much needed respite to carers and family members.
Our focus is on wellbeing and we are happy to support people who have a diagnosis of dementia, mental health, learning disabilities, following a stroke or who are just generally physically frail.
We treat people with courtesy and respect and encourage them to remain active and make decisions and choices for themselves while supporting their wellbeing.
Our qualified, dedicated staff team can support individuals with personal care and prompting or administration of medication.
We provide a two-course home cooked lunch and refreshments throughout the day and clients can attend anything from once a week to 5 days a week, depending on their individual circumstances. Clients can self-refer or be referred through another organisation, including social services.
